Look at that belly grow!

So, we've made it half way, folks:

It's doesn't seem that bad considering I've still got this far to go:

But we are doing good. We'll be moving in the next few weeks, so that always makes for a good time. We're excited to get where we're going, but the whole packing thing (5th time in 4 years!) is getting old. Before we move, we'll get to find out what (boy or girl...not both!) we are having, so I'll post that up. Check out the poll to see if you have some sweet guessing skills. The baby is kicking, punching and somersaulting like crazy which is always fun because at this point it isn't painful and it's a fun little secret I get to keep all to myself. Yay for being a mom. Have a great week!

Sign of the (Economic) Times? A glance at completely different worlds.

Southlake Dallas. According to Wikipedia, per-capita family income is $176,259.

This, according to all general information I have, is more than I have ever made in my life. Or my wife. Minimum house price a quick scan of zillow reveals $250,000.

Also, note the general lack of thrift stores.

Sad, huh? All those high school kids missing out on the styles of last year.

I thought America didn't have royalty? Or that the free-market was the best thing out there?

Compare that with Timpson, Texas. Two home listings-$69,000 & $85,000. Per capita income? $24,271. Or roughly 15% that of Southlake.

But hey, Timpson has Frontier days and some of the best antique furniture you're likely to find! If you get a chance, and want some real good country cooking, head out that way.

Then again, there's Burma, where people live on an average of $3.33 a day. Meaning there are a lot of people living on less.

People there live a pretty simple life. But seems like they have some fun too (despite the despotism).

Plus there are some pretty spots.

Interesting though, isn't it? Based on these anecdotes, one could assume there is a first-order constant inverse relationship between poverty and fun.

What a big kid!

I guess Caleb is a big kid in more ways than one, but it just seems like he has grown up so much in the past month. Caleb is really picking up on a lot of words (comprehension, not really talking much yet) and is quickly growing out of the baby phase! Good thing we have another one on the way so I don't get too used to this... :)

Jumping in the pillows

New body language

And why the cow costume you might be asking?? Don't you know what day it is? And don't worry, we all dressed up with Caleb. It was fun and totally worth it.

Happy 4th!

Yes, this might be a week late, so sue me...wait, don't. The only thing you would get is our car. Well, that might not be too bad for us.

Anyway, we got to celebrate the Fourth of July with Grandma and Grandpa at Kaboom town here in Dallas. They shoot the fireworks off from a local airport, so during the pre-show they flew lots of old planes and stunt planes. Caleb liked the planes, but I can't really say that for the fireworks. This is the only way he would sit through them:

Buried in Grandma's shoulder. And he would not look at the fireworks under any condition. But, as soon as they were over he turned around, clapped his hands and said "yay!" Well, we can try again next year. I hope everyone had a fun holiday!

Just in case...

...you actually trust mechanics, read this and be sure to watch the videos. We haven't had anything like this happen to us (that we know of!), but I usually just keep pennies in the change compartment...you know, the big bucks. Enjoy!

a hundred year event...

At 12:34:56 today, it will be

Product reviews wanted

Since I've got some time on my hands, I've been browsing at some baby things that we'll need in the near future. One main thing I am looking at are double strollers, preferably the ones that are side by side. Any good/bad experiences with double strollers of your own? Also, what about those sit and stand ones? I seriously can't imagine Caleb (he'll be a little over two at the time) being that free to run around, but who knows how things will be by then. Thankfully this will be one of the only main things we have to buy...there is a benefit to having babies close together!! :)
